final draft & Strategy
To navigate a non-traditional looking calendar, I pursued an angled grid and radial structure. By using careful alignment, I maintained legibility and understanding in both layouts.
Design Decisions

Organizing days of the week
I organized each calendar so that Friday the 1st was at the top left of the page or at the 1 o'clock position in the innermost circle- positions that provide an entry point for viewers to start reading.

I grouped the days by their week (1st, 2nd, etc)- this dictated their position. So, days 1-7 are placed in the inner most circle or at the direct right of the day.
Days belonging to the first week also have matching type treatments. Every Friday of the month is grouped together, either in a grid or in the same position on the clock, as is every other day.
Holidays
I highlighted the 5th (Election Day), the 11th (Veterans Day), the 27th (my birthday), and the 28th (Thanksgiving. I emphasized my birthday differently than the other days to demonstrate that it's not a national holiday
